Americans invent drug detector nail polish

An American company has just developed a smart nail polish, which changes color in the presence of so-called “rape” drugs in a drink.

“We are Undercover Colors, we are the first fashion company to empower women to prevent them from being sexually assaulted.” Four students from North Carolina, USA, have announced that they have developed a smart nail polish capable of changing shades in the presence of rape drugs.

Xanax, Rohypnol, GHB, are examples of detectable substances with this innovative nail polish, available in several shades, created to fight against sexual assault, which is constantly increasing among women.

The process is simple, women just have to dip their finger in their glass to detect its contents. If it is in the presence of drugs, which are colorless and odorless, the nail polish changes color. However, it reacts only in the presence of certain substances, since its capabilities are, for the moment, still limited.

NAIL POLISH DRUG DETECTOR: SOURCE OF CONTROVERSY

Innovation, which has been welcomed by some, is already a source of controversy. Indeed, Submitting various anti-rape prototypes such as anti-rape pants or hairy tights does not address the fundamental problem, but encourages women to take their measures in the face of constantly increasing acts deplore some media.

According to the U.S. edition of Cosmopolitan, “reports of sexual assault are at record levels.” The magazine mentions “a 50% increase in sexual assaults in the last three years in academia” despite this “they have little, if any, support for the victims”. And to emphasize: “… should we reduce our fingers to our glasses? »

Currently in the prototype stage, anti-drug nail polish is awaiting investor funds for commercialization. A call for donations is planned for this purpose on the official website of undercover Colors’ young entrepreneurs.
